Problem Definition
Enclave is a cybersecurity startup specialising in zero-trust network access, with no dedicated design resource in place.
Design was largely engineering-led, leading to inconsistent UX/UI, limited design process, and poor scalability. As the business evolved towards a partner-led model, there was a need to bring design in-house to improve quality, consistency and collaboration.
Process
As the sole Product Designer, I introduced a more structured and collaborative design process.
Established weekly design sprint rituals with product and engineering
Used wireframes to rapidly explore ideas and gather early feedback
Created interactive prototypes to communicate flows and interactions
Led design handoffs and feature kickoffs with engineering
This improved alignment and created a clearer path from concept to delivery.
Solution
I established a scalable design foundation for the Enclave product suite, alongside designing key product features including the partner portal.
Designed a white-label partner portal, enabling partners to manage customers and usage
Built a design system in Figma, creating a single source of truth
Introduced a more consistent UX/UI approach across the product
Improved design-to-development workflows
The focus was on creating a scalable, consistent product experience aligned with the business direction.
Impact
Established a centralised design system, eliminating inconsistencies and improving design quality across the platform
Improved collaboration between design and engineering, streamlining handoff and delivery processes
Supported the successful launch of the partner portal, enabling a shift to a partnership-led growth model
Contributed to 6.4% revenue growth post-launch, with 8.5% projected annual growth
Overall, the work helped transition Enclave from an engineering-led product to a more design-driven, scalable platform.
