Enclave Networks: Enabling Growth Through Partner Portals.

Enclave Networks: Portal Login Screen Hero Image

As Enclave expanded its Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) platform, the business shifted towards a partner-led sales model. Existing tools had been designed primarily for direct customers, making it difficult for partners to manage multiple organisations efficiently.

Working as the sole Product Designer, I led the end-to-end design of a new white-label Partner Portal. Collaborating closely with the Product Owner, CTO and engineering team, I designed a scalable experience that supported partner onboarding, customer management and licence administration while fitting naturally into Enclave's wider product ecosystem.

Enclave's existing platform worked well for individual organisations but wasn't built for resellers and managed service providers.

Partners needed to manage multiple customers from a single account while maintaining clear separation between organisations. Without dedicated tools, operational tasks became increasingly manual as the partner network grew.

The challenge was to create a scalable management experience that balanced flexibility, security and simplicity.

As a result:

  • Partners had limited visibility across customer organisations.

  • Administrative tasks required unnecessary manual effort.

  • Existing workflows weren't designed for a channel sales model.

  • The platform needed to support future growth without increasing operational complexity.

The Problem

Discovery focused on understanding how partners managed multiple customers and how those workflows differed from direct customers.

Working closely with the Product Owner and CTO, I mapped user journeys, explored permission models and identified where existing experiences no longer met business needs.

Because Enclave operates in cybersecurity, every design decision needed to balance usability with strict security requirements. Multi-tenancy, permissions and organisational separation became central design considerations throughout the project.

These insights shaped a portal that supported both operational efficiency and secure customer management.

Understanding the Problem

The portal was designed around the way partners actually worked rather than the structure of the underlying system.

I created a dashboard that provided a clear overview of customer organisations, licences and network status, allowing partners to move quickly between accounts without losing context.

The experience focused on:

  • Managing multiple customer organisations from one place.

  • Clear organisation switching.

  • Role-based permissions.

  • Simple licence management.

  • White-label flexibility for future partners.

Throughout the process, I explored multiple navigation structures and information hierarchies before refining the experience into a scalable interface that remained easy to navigate as partner accounts grew.

Designing the Solution

One of the biggest challenges was ensuring the portal could evolve alongside the business.

Rather than designing only for the initial release, I created flexible patterns that could support additional partner functionality in future without requiring major redesigns.

Alongside the portal itself, I rebuilt Enclave's Design System in Figma, creating a shared library of reusable components that improved consistency across the product and streamlined collaboration with engineers.

This gave the business a scalable design foundation for future product development.

Designing for Scale

As the only designer, collaboration was essential throughout the project.

Designs were reviewed regularly with the Product Owner, CTO and engineering team through weekly design sessions, allowing ideas to be validated before development.

Testing focused on questions such as:

  • Could partners manage multiple organisations efficiently?

  • Were permission levels easy to understand?

  • Did navigation remain clear as customer numbers increased?

  • Could complex administration tasks be completed with minimal training?

Feedback helped refine navigation, simplify key workflows and improve consistency across the experience before release.

Testing

The completed Partner Portal provided partners with a secure, centralised workspace for managing customers and licences across multiple organisations.

Key improvements included:

  • White-label partner portal.

  • Multi-organisation management.

  • Role-based permissions.

  • Simplified licence administration.

  • Scalable navigation.

  • Consistent experience built using a new Design System.

The portal supported Enclave's move towards a partner-led growth strategy while reducing operational complexity for both partners and internal teams.

Final Product

The Partner Portal became an important part of Enclave's transition towards channel partnerships.

Following launch:

  • Supported Enclave's partner sales strategy.

  • Contributed to 6.4% revenue growth during the first quarter after launch.

  • Projected to contribute towards 8.5% annual growth.

  • Reduced administrative effort for partners managing multiple organisations.

  • Established a scalable design foundation through a rebuilt Design System.

The project demonstrated how thoughtful product design can support both user needs and long-term business strategy.

Measuring Success

Working as Enclave's sole Product Designer gave me the opportunity to influence both the product and the way design was embedded within the business.

Beyond delivering the Partner Portal, I introduced a new Design System and established closer collaboration between design and engineering, creating processes that continued to support the product after launch.

Looking back, this project reinforced the importance of designing for scale. By creating flexible patterns rather than one-off screens, we built a platform that could evolve alongside the business as new partners and capabilities were introduced.
